- Seized caliper (due to parts rusted shut)
- Caliper piston is rusted due to water and corrosive chemicals exposure
- Caliper piston seal is damaged due to heat and friction
Solutions
- Replace pistons and slide pins
- Replace slide pin boots and sleeves
- Replace piston seals
- Apply anti-rust grease on slide pins
- Apply rubber grease on slide pin boots and sleeves
- Apply rubber grease on piston seals
- If caliper body is severely damaged by rust, replace the caliper
